Freebirds hires new finance VP

Freebirds chose Gerardo Arce as the company's new vice president of finance, according to a company press release. Arce was formerly the Fiesta Restaurant Group's vice president of finance and oversaw operations, marketing and development of the Taco Cabana and Pollo Tropical brands.

"We are thrilled to have Gerardo join the Freebirds' Tribe," Chairman Charles B. Lewis said in the release. "With more than 15 years of financial management expertise in our industry, Arce is suited to make an immediate contribution to the company. Together, the leadership team will continue to explore new opportunities to expand and enhance the brand, and Arce's appointment is an important commitment to this effort."

The brand turns 30 next year. The company has made significant progress according to the release by introducing its first food truck and a mobile app, as well as anticipating the opening of its newest location in Tennessee.
