FREEBIRDS going beachside

FREEBIRDS World Burrito's newest location opens Oct. 13 at 1509 Hawthorne Blvd., in Redondo Beach, Calif., making it the fifth location for the Golden State.

To celebrate, FREEBIRDS will give the first 25 guests in line free burritos for a year. Also, the company and its charitable arm, World Works has been conducting other pre-opening events for the public. Today's event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again at from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The first 250 guests at each time slot will enjoy complimentary food and drinks in exchange for a $5 donation to Chrysalis, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals.

The new FREEBIRDS will employ about 75 team members from the local community.
