Former Rubio's exec named CEO of Boneheads

January 18, 2013

Boneheads Grilled Fish & Piri Piri Chicken, a six-unit Atlanta-based fast casual restaurant chain known for its signature Piri-Piri Chicken and fresh grilled seafood menu, has named 25-year hospitality and restaurant industry veteran, Sheri Miksa, as its CEO and president.

"We are pleased to have attracted a talented executive like Sheri with her extensive restaurant industry experience," said Boneheads' owner, Ron Barber, an Atlanta entrepreneur and businessman. "We are certain Sheri's strong industry background, including her substantial time in the fast casual segment and with franchised organizations, will help us build this brand into a major player in the growing fast casual segment."

Miksa's prior chief executive roles include leading the 150-unit Rubio's Restaurants chain and the 140-unit Robeks Juice brand, a 99-percent franchised fast casual chain. At Robeks the number of restaurants increased by 50 percent during her tenure.

"Fast casual fresh grilled seafood is an under-served segment and Boneheads' craveable Piri-Piri sauces enhance their chicken as well as other menu options," Miksa said. "I look forward to leading this brand to achieve its significant growth potential."

Previously, Miksa held executive roles with Seattle Coffee Company, Taco Bell Corporation and LSG Sky Chefs. She holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, has served on the board of directors of Share our Strength's Great American Dine-out and the Women's Foodservice Forum and currently serves on the boards of Healthy Dining and Vita-Mix Corporation.
