Hype Food Co., a fast casual restaurant focused on food allergy-friendly meals, has opened in Toronto, according to a company press release. The company hopes to attract on-the-go customers looking for healthy, worry-free meals.
The restaurant's menu eliminates gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk, wheat, fish, soy and sesame, making it perfect for people with strict dietary restrictions, said co-founder Pauline Osena, who is also the mother of two children with multiple food allergies.
"Instead of waiting for someone else to create the ideal spot for people with food allergies and intolerance or also for people who want to know the ingredients that go into their food, I decided to move ahead with this very exciting project," Osena said in the release.
Menu items include options such as cupcakes and brownies made from gluten-free and nut-free flours.
