Fazoli's entering Louisiana

Kentucky-based Fazoli's is opening a location in Denton, Texas, and two in Shreveport, marking its entry into Louisiana.

The Denton location, as well as one of the Shreveport stores, will open by the end of 2023. The Italian fast casual chain, which has over 220 locations, is on track for a record-breaking number of openings next year with 15 in the pipeline, according toTaylor Wiederhorn, chief development officer of FAT Brands, which acquired Fazoli's last year.

"Since integrating Fazoli's into the FAT Brands portfolio, we have been looking for the right strategic opportunities to grow the brand," Wiederhorn said in the release. "Texas continues to be a market that we are focused on across the board, so we are excited to add another brand of ours in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Similarly, another key area of emphasis is expanding with our existing franchisee base. Chris and Kristen Simmons are long-time Marble Slab Creamery operators in Louisiana who saw the value in diversifying the concepts they are operating under FAT Brands."

FAT Brands owns Round Table Pizza, Fatburger, Marble Slab Creamery, Johnny Rockets, Twin Peaks, Great American Cookies, Hot Dog on a Stick, Buffalo's Cafe & Express, Hurricane Grill & Wings, Native Grill & Wings, Pretzelmaker, Elevation Burger, Yalla Mediterranean and Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses.
