Fatburger has opened its first location in Tunisia. The fast casual restaurant brings its made-to-order burgers to North Africa's tourist town, Sidi Bou Said, under the direction of Solitaire Food Service Inc.
Fatburger currently operates in 27 countries and is expanding its presence in such regions as Asia, Europe and the Middle East and recently opened restaurants in Cairo, Egypt and Lahore, Pakistan. With more than half of its locations in overseas markets, the burger chain is actively focused on broadening its international reach with more than 300 new units under development, said Andy Wiederhorn, CEO of Fatburger, who will speak at this year's Fast Casual Executive Summit Oct. 15 in New Orleans.
"Through the introduction of our brand in Tunisia, we hope to provide the same classic burger experience, which our Fatburger fans all across the world already enjoy so much," he said. "We anticipate great success with this location and plan to further build upon our portfolio of locations in North Africa in the years to come."
