Fast Casual openings and additions to kick off 2017

Fast casual brands are taking a deep breath and heading into 2017 with gusto and great hope, with new sites opening and new offerings appearing on menus. Here are a few of the notable store openings and LTOs chains are investing in for 2017:

El Pollo Loco does Dallas: Fire-grilled chicken chain, El Pollo Loco, opened its newest Texas location on Forest Lane in Dallas, according to a company news release. This is the chain's seventh site in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth market. The 70-seat restaurant was created under the brand's "vision design," highlighting a Mexican-inspired atmosphere and open kitchen layout. 

Kalamatas at Salata: Salata is starting the new year with a limited time addition to its salad offerings straight from the sun-baked Greek islands. Kalamata olives will be added to the chain's array of salad possibilities through the month of January, according to a news release. The deep purple and salty fruits join the chain's 50 other current fresh toppings to give salad lovers more than enough to equivocate over. 

Dickey's slides into New Year: Dickey's Barbecue Pit is sliding into 2017 aboard little bundles of chicken joy, known as chicken sliders, according to a news release. For $2, diners can get a single serving of the sliced, slow-smoked chicken meat on a buttery roll, or they can pay $8.50 for a Kickin' Combo with three sliders, coleslaw and a Big Yellow Cup.

Turkish-American sisters now franchising Flatbread Grill
