Famous Dave's of America has joined the expanding list of casual dining restaurant chains opening fast casual offshoots.
On Dec. 5, the company opened its Famous Dave's BBQ Shack in Eden Prairie, Minn. The restaurant features a smaller footprint, counter service and a menu similar to its casual dining restaurant.
"Guests will find a variety of our award-winning dishes that reflect regional favorites from around the country. Additionally, our founder, Famous Dave Anderson, will use this location to try new menu ideas and to experiment with new seasonings, sauces and flavors," said Christopher O'Donnell, president and CEO at Famous Dave's of America Inc.
The Eden Prairie location also will include a pick-up window designed specifically for guests who have pre-ordered their meals by phone.
To celebrate the grand opening, the Eden Prairie team is hosting a random drawing for free All-American BBQ Feasts for a year (one each month from January through December) from the new Eden Prairie BBQ Shack location. Guests are encouraged to fill out an entry form at the restaurant and drop it in the entry box located inside the new BBQ Shack between now and Dec. 31. The grand prize winner will be selected Jan. 6.
Famous Dave's owns and operates 53 locations and franchises 131 additional units in 37 states.
