Jan. 9, 2017

Minneapolis will be home to Erbert & Gerbert’s 100th unit. Under the direction of Manuel Pizano-Carlo, who owns a unit in Energy Park in St. Paul, the 100th unit opens this week in Minneapolis at 1730 New Brighton Blvd., Suite 101, according to a company press release.

Originally a native of Mexico, Pizaño-Carlo moved to the states pursuing the American dream.

"I moved to Minnesota as a college student to study architecture and learn English. I did not plan on staying, but over time knew that the Twin Cities is where I belonged," Pizaño-Carlo said in the release.

In July, the Minnesota Zoo welcomed an Erbert & Gerbert's location, and earlier this year; General Mills opened a location within its complex. Of the 100 locations, 40 are located in Minnesota. The chain is planning to open eight more stores in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul by the end of 2018, plus 12 additional stores in other cities in Minnesota, according to the release.
