Einstein Brothers combats child hunger by giving away egg sandwiches

August 2, 2016

Einstein Brothers Bagels has joined forces with No Kid Hungry to combat child hunger. On Aug. 16, the chain will offer customers a free cracked egg sandwich and donate a meal to a child in need for every sandwich doled out.

"Einstein Brothers has set a goal of raising 1 million meals to fight a crisis that threatens our nation's future," Alex Sterling, Einstein Bros. Bagels director of communications, said in the report. "The free day allows our guests a chance to join the effort in a meaningful way, and Einstein's has sweetened the deal by offering our new line of signature fresh cracked egg sandwiches at no charge."

New menu items, including the Farmhouse, Chorizo Sunrise and French Toast egg sandwiches are debuting as part of the effort to eradicate child hunger.

"We are thrilled to partner with Einstein Brothers Bagels this August," said Billy Shore, founder and CEO of Share Our Strength, the nonprofit running the No Kid Hungry campaign. "Our partners are critical to the mission of No Kid Hungry, allowing us to expand our work connecting kids to nutritious food where they live, learn and play. Promotions like these not only raise funds but also awareness of the problem of childhood hunger in this country and what we are doing to solve it."
