Einstein Bros. embraces new year with healthy menu options

Einstein Noah Restaurant Group is kicking off 2014 with a revitalized Smart Choices menu now available at all Einstein Bros. Bagels and Noah's New York Bagels locations nationwide, according to a company press release.

The Smart Choices menu features Einstein's Thintastic Bagels that have 35 percent fewer calories than its normal bagel. Guests can now order the new Thintastic Bagel in three flavors including Plain, Whole Wheat and Everything.

Other nutritious choices include the Nova Lox Sandwich, packed with Omega-3 and 24 grams of protein for all day energy. In addition, Einstein has introduced a new Greek Yogurt Parfait made with Dannon Oikos Greek yogurt, said Jeff O'Neill, CEO of Einstein Noah Restaurant Group.

Manhattan Bagel, which is part of the Einstein Noah's brand portfolio, is also offering the new Thintastic bagels and sandwiches as part of its Lighter Side menu.

"Research shows that consumers who start their day off with a better breakfast, are setting themselves up for a better day," O'Neill said. "Gone are the days when fast food was the only option for breakfast on the go. Today's consumer is very aware of the benefits of a healthier diet and an active lifestyle, and our Thintastic bagels and Smart Choices menu cater to our guests looking for a lighter way to enjoy our fresh baked bagels without having to sacrifice on taste. Einstein's Smart Choices menu is the perfect option for consumers looking for a healthier start to the New Year."

To celebrate the new Thintastic Bagel and Smart Choices menu, Einstein Noah Restaurant Group will ring the opening bell at NASDAQ Marketsite as part of Fit Week on Jan. 8.

To help guests kick off the New Year with a healthy start, participating Einstein Bros. and Noah's locations are running a social media promotion, allowing guests to download a coupon for a free Thintastic Bagel and Shmear redeemable in restaurants on Jan. 15.
