Domino's posted a 57-percent increase in profits

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Despite softening sales in the final quarter of 2005, Domino's Pizza posted a 57 percent increase in profits on modest increases in revenue.
In 2005's fourth quarter, ended Jan. 1, 2006, U.S. comparable-store sales rose 1.7 percent (made up of a 3.3 percent increase at corporate stores and a 1.5 percent increase at franchise stores). International comps rose 3.8 percent.
Revenue for the period was $457.3 million versus $478.5 million in 2004, and net income was $40.2 million versus $27 million. Domino's fiscal year 2004 included a 53-week period.
Comps for full-year 2005 rose 4.9 percent (made up of a 7.1 percent increase at corporate stores and a 4.6 percent increase at franchise stores). International comps grew 6.1 percent for the year.
Revenue for all of 2005 was $1.5 billion versus $1.45 billion in 2004, and net income was $108.2 million versus $62.3 million last year.
Domino's net-unit increase for the year was 322, for a system-wide total of 8,079.
