Today, Dickey's Barbecue Pit representatives said that 50 of the chain's Dallas-area locations will take part in a fundraiser to honor the Dallas police officers slain or injured in last week's shooting attack in the Texas city. According to a news release, the company's charitable foundation, Barbecue, Boots and Badges is hosting the fundraising effort, which will advance 100 percent of in-store donations to the families of the dead and injured officers. Additionally, the company plans to donate 20 percent of today's sales at 50 select locations to the families.
Last week, five peace officers with a number of Dallas-area police forces were slain, including Brent Thompson, Patrick Zamarripa, Michael Krol, Michael Smith and Lorne Ahrens.
