Dickey's Barbecue launches fast casual concept

DALLAS — Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants has introduced a fast-casual concept, scaling down from its traditional 4,500 square-feet, buffet-style restaurants to a 1,500 square-foot space.
"In the fast paced world we live in, customers want exactly what Dickey's offers — quality food that's affordable and prepared quickly," said Steve Royer, a franchisee who operates Dickey's restaurant in Lynchburg, Va. "Many customers don't have time to wait at a full-service restaurant and don't see the nutritional or cost value in many fast-food restaurants."
Dickey's operates 90 locations and has 70 more in development.
