Dallas-based Cowboy Chicken will be open at all nine locations New Year's Day and will offer a complimentary serving of black-eyed peas for good luck to each guest, according to a company press release.
A dish of peas is a New Year's tradition in most areas of the South, and is a long time tradition at Cowboy Chicken, thought to bring luck and prosperity for the New Year, said Sean Kennedy, president, Cowboy Chicken.
"Remember, black-eyed peas on New Year's Day brings good luck for the entire year of 2014," he said.
