Costa Vida reports strong unit growth in 2011

February 21, 2012

Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill has reported a 74 percent unit growth increase for 2011.

“Costa Vida has experienced dramatic growth despite recent economic uncertainty nationwide,” said Sean Collins, chairman at Costa Vida. “We attribute our success to the strength of our Baja Coast inspired brand and to our fresh food which has enabled us to reach this exciting milestone.”

In 2010, Costa Vida reached an agreement to aggressively convert many of the Bajio Mexican Grill restaurants to the Costa Vida brand.  With those conversions, plus new stores in new markets, Costa Vida opened 17 locations throughout Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Missouri and Washington.  The 39th and 40th units opened in Missouri and Utah, respectively.

“The opening of our 40th store is evidence of the great momentum we have at Costa Vida,” said Jeff Jacobson, president of Costa Vida. “Each location represents the dedication and hard work of our franchisees, their managers and employees. Each of them strives daily for greatness in all Costa Vida operations.”
