Corner Bakery Cafe raised more than $250,000 for Share Our Strength's Dine Out for No Kid Hungry campaign this year to help end childhood hunger in America. Since 2008, Corner Bakery Cafe has donated $1.2 million in total contributions to Share Our Strength, according to a company press release.
In the sixth year of its partnership with Share Our Strength, Corner Bakery Cafe held a system-wide in-store fundraiser in September in which guests who donated $1 or more to the No Kid Hungry campaign received a Whoopee Cookie on their next visit. Guests who donated $5 or more received a booklet of special Corner Bakery Cafe offers valued at over $25.
Additionally, Corner Bakery Cafe held a secondary fundraising promotion featuring its all-natural Old-Fashioned Lemonade and new Hibiscus Lemonade. From July 29 to Sept. 30, Corner Bakery Cafe donated $1 from every special edition 16-ounce tumbler purchase to No Kid Hungry. Guests who purchased the new custom-designed tumblers also received lemonade refills for $1 on return visits, with a portion of the proceeds also going to No Kid Hungry.
"It's amazing every year to see our generous guests and dedicated team members come together like this and contribute to such an important cause," said Diana Hovey, chief marketing officer of Corner Bakery Cafe. "We are all working towards one common goal — to make sure every child has a nutritious meal to eat."
