Corner Bakery Café launches “Get Fresh Recipe Contest”

To celebrate the summer season’s freshest fruits and vegetables, Corner Bakery Café has launched the “Get Fresh Recipe Contest” encouraging its Facebook fans to submit an original recipe and photo featuring one or more of the over 40 different types of fresh produce available in every location.

“Since we’re obsessed with freshness we always have a huge variety of fresh produce on hand, including vibrant vegetables, colorful fruits and bright leafy greens and herbs,” said Ric Scicchitano, Corner Bakery Café senior vice president of food and beverage. “This abundance of fresh ingredients allows our guests to easily customize their meals so they can have exactly what they want. The ‘Get Fresh Recipe Contest’ let’s our guests tap into their creativity and have some fun.”

The contest kicked off July 12 on the Corner Bakery Café’s Facebook page, where fans can watch a quick video introducing the contest, download a list of the more than 40 different types of fresh produce available and submit their original recipe and dish photo. Every fan who submits a recipe and photo will receive an offer via mail for a free Spinach Sweet Crisp Cafe Salad, a new Corner Bakery Café menu item. The salad features baby spinach tossed with sliced oranges, strawberries, red grapes, dried cranberries, green onions, creamy goat cheese and raisin pecan sweet crisps, drizzled with homemade pomegranate vinaigrette.

Submissions will be accepted through Aug. 9, when the Corner Bakery Café culinary team will evaluate each recipe and select 10 top submissions based on originality, crave-ability and innovative use of the ingredients. These 10 finalists will receive a $100 Corner Bakery Café gift card and their recipes will be displayed on the brand's Facebook page Aug. 16, where other fans are encouraged to vote on their favorite to determine the winning recipe.

Voting concludes Aug. 23, and the winning recipe will be announced via Facebook Aug. 25. The winner will receive a trip for two to the Corner Bakery Café test kitchen in Dallas and free Corner Bakery Café favorites for a year redeemable in the form of $500 in gift cards.
