Just a few months after its launch, fast casual concept Coal Burger is set to open its second location in Woodlands, Texas's Town Center.
Coal Burger, a venture of Grimaldi's Pizzeria, first opened in Scottsdale Quarter, a shopping/dining/entertainment destination in Scottsdale, Ariz., where Grimaldi's is headquartered. Coal Burger uses a similar coal-fired brick oven as Grimaldi's.
The new concept offers a selection of natural grass-fed beef and Niman Ranch Natural Beef, as well as brioche, gluten-free and wheat buns. Selections also include a vegetable and rice vegetarian burger and Chef Inspired salads, sweet potato fries and seasoned french fries, organic beer, biodynamic wine, thick organic gelato shakes and Boylan's self-serve natural fountain sodas.
Beyond the sustainable food choices, Coal Burger's building features eco-friendly features such as reclaimed wood, recycled natural nickel patina, PVC-free banquet seating and bamboo furniture. All napkins, paper towels and toilet paper on site are 100-percent post-recycled product.
"Coal Burger is an exciting new concept in today's restaurant marketplace. The delicious smoky flavor of cooking in a coal fired oven, paired with natural ingredients, makes us believe we have a winning combination," said Coal Burger Founder Joe Ciolli.
A third location is in the works in Chandler, Ariz.
