Chipotle to open second ShopHouse

Steve Ells is looking to open a second ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen location near the original Washington, D.C., restaurant.

According to several new reports, Ells has said the original concept, which opened in September, has experienced a tremendous amount of success. Details on the second location have not been released, but Chipotle's director of concept development, Tim Wildin, has confirmed the planned second opening.

In regard to Chipotle's growth, Ells told Bloomberg News the chain is adding locations in London and Paris, and also has its sights set on Germany.

From Bloomberg:

Chipotle is adding stores in London and Paris and will also make a push in Germany as it expands in Europe, said Ells, 46. The company’s interactive format, in which diners customize orders, is "pretty universally accepted and appreciated," he said.

"While domestic is our main area of growth, ShopHouse and international are ways to sort of seed potential for the future," Ells said.
