Chipotle Mexican Grill is showing its support for teachers as it launches a $100,000 supply reimbursement effort as the school season kicks off.

The goal is to help reimburse teachers and educators who often pay for school supplies out of their own pocket — an average of $500 a year for U.S. public school teachers, according to a press release.

To participate teachers share a photo of school supply receipts via Twitter (https://twitter.com/ChipotleTweets/status/1425062068856578050) using the hashtag #SuppliesContest for the opportunity for reimbursement via Venmo.

Selected participants will be notified via a direct message from the @ChipotleTweets account.

"We wanted to lend a hand to a community that has endured so much over the past year," Chris Brandt, chief marketing officer, said in the release. "Chipotle is a company that's been committed to supporting teachers and we will continue to find creative ways to show our appreciation for the professionals who are cultivating a better future for our communities."
