Chipotle net up 76 percent

DENVER — Same-store sales at company-owned Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. locations increased nearly 12 percent for the second quarter ended June 30, the company announced.
Revenue increased 34 percent, up to $274.3 million for the quarter compared with revenue of $205 million for the same period last year.
Net income increased 85 percent, up to $20 million for the second quarter compared with net income of nearly $11 million in 2Q '06. Income from operations increased to $30.7 million for the second quarter of 2007, compared to $15.9 million for the second quarter of 2006.
For the six-month period ended June 30, 2007, comps increased 10 percent.
Revenue for the six-month period increased 30.2 percent, up to $510.4 million for the period compared with $392 million for the same period last year.
Net income increased 72.6 percent, up to $32.4 million from $18.8 million in the prior six-month period. Income from operations increased to $49.3 million for the six months ended June 30, compared to $28.6 million a year ago.
