Chicken Shack is pairing its biggest menu update in more than a decade with a limited-time promotion designed to drive traffic and trial.
The Michigan-based chicken chain has introduced a revamped version of its chicken tenders, along with a $9.99 bundled meal and a "Chicken Tenders for a Year" giveaway that will award one winner at each of its 26 locations, according to a company press release.
The launch reflects a strategy many restaurant brands are employing as consumers continue to seek value while operators look for ways to generate repeat visits through menu innovation and loyalty programs.
"Our guests grew up on Chicken Shack, and their kids and grandkids grew up on it too," Cliff Lunny, president and managing partner of Chicken Shack, said in the release. "For 70 years, we have served craveable, high-quality chicken. The new Chicken Tenders spotlight what we do best and our commitment to making them even better."
The tenders feature a proprietary batter-and-flour blend and are made with fresh, never-frozen, all-natural American chicken. To encourage sampling, Chicken Shack introduced a $9.99 meal that includes three chicken tenders, Shack Potatoes, a side, dipping sauce and a drink.
The company is also using its rewards program to support the launch. Through Aug. 2, guests who purchase a chicken tender item in-store or through their Chicken Shack Rewards account can enter to win free chicken tenders for a year. The promotion also includes a free alternate method of entry.
Founded in Royal Oak, Michigan, in 1956, Chicken Shack operates 26 locations across the state. As the company celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2026, it is also pursuing franchise growth in new markets.
