Chanticleer, Beyond Meat team up on plant-based burger patty

Chanticleer Holdings Inc. and Beyond Meat are partnering on a 100% vegan patty alternative.

Each brand under the Chanticleer umbrella will design and test its own unique burger built with fresh local ingredients, according to a press release. The participating brands include Little Big Burger, American Burger Company, Just Fresh and Burgers Grilled Right.

The "Beyond Burger" patty will be free from GMOs, gluten and soy with a lower saturated fat than traditional beef.

"With roughly one third of consumers identifying as flexitarians, we're thrilled to partner with Beyond Meat to provide a plant-based alternative to our current menu offerings. We also understand that consumers are more conscious than ever about making responsible food choices that are not only healthy, but that also take sustainability and ethical considerations into account," said Fred Glick, Chanticleer Holdings president, in the release.
