Caribou Coffee has partnered with CashStar, a digital gifting company, to launch an eGift card program to allow consumers to purchase and send personalized digital gift cards online and via mobile devices. In conjunction with the holiday season launch, Caribou Coffee is offering a special promotion, rewarding consumers who purchase a $25 eGift card with a $5 eGift card for free until Dec. 31, according to a company press release.
"This launch is part of our overall commitment to innovation at Caribou Coffee which aims to reach our guests in new and surprising ways with offerings they'll love," said Michele Vig, vice president of marketing for Caribou Coffee. "Through our partnership with CashStar, we are now offering our customers an additional gifting option that fits their lifestyle, while also driving increased sales, enhancing our mobile marketing capabilities, enabling peer-to-peer gifting and benefitting from a new promotional platform — all just in time for the holiday season."
With CashStar, consumers can easily personalize and purchase eGift cards, which are accepted just like cash and never expire, wherever they are and up to the last minute, said Ben Kaplan, CEO of CashStar.
For gifting on the go, CashStar provides a user interface specifically designed for small mobile screens and thumb-button navigation, enabling shoppers to quickly and easily purchase eGift cards. In addition, Caribou Coffee takes advantage of CashStar's offering to send a text message with the eGift card link to the recipient.
"CashStar's platform not only provides Caribou Coffee with the valuable eGifting capability, but also allows the coffee company to develop and implement strategic promotional campaigns that drive both business and consumer value, especially during the holiday season," Kaplan said. "As a result, they are enabling their increasingly mobile consumer base to easily purchase eGift cards wherever they are, while also opening up a new revenue stream that breeds loyalty and cultivates long-lasting relationships at the same time."
