Caribou Coffee to reward guests for using reusable drinkware

April 20, 2011

As part of Caribou’s Happy Everyday sustainability program, guests who use reusable drinkware will receive 50 cents off any drink, any size, any day. Additionally, the chain is offering a free cup of coffee to guests who bring in reusable drinkware on Earth Day, April 22.

“Caribou Coffee wants to reward those who are doing small things that add up to a big difference,” said Alfredo Martel, senior vice president of marketing and product management for Caribou Coffee. “We know our customers share our belief that what’s good for us is good for the earth. Making everyday happy through sustainable savings is our way of showing them that we’re all in this together—and that we appreciate them helping us make a difference.”

With more than 500 coffeehouses across the country, Caribou Coffee has made a discerned effort in the last year to achieve more sustainable business practices, including a commitment to Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee sourcing. Last April, the company announced that by the end of 2011, 100 percent of their coffees will be Rainforest Alliance Certified. Currently, more than 85 percent of Caribou Coffee’s full line of coffees is Rainforest Alliance Certified.
