Caribou Coffee has partnered with yarnbombing artist Eric "HOTTEA" Rieger to create Caribou Coffee's Arch of Hope, an art installation in the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Survivor's Park in downtown Minneapolis.
"Everyone has been impacted by breast cancer in one way or another," said artist Eric Rieger in a company press release. "I was honored to work with Caribou Coffee to create a piece of art that would uplift and inspire those impacted by cancer, their friends and families and the community in downtown Minneapolis."
The 60-foot arch, constructed from 14 shades of pink yarn, will remain on display throughout October.
The design mirrors the packaging for Caribou Coffee's Amy's Blend. Ten percent of online or in store Amy's Blend purchases go to support CancerCare.
"We'd like to welcome not only Caribou Coffee guests but the entire cancer community and downtown Minneapolis residents and commuters to enjoy the arch," said Megan Fraboni, public relations manager at Caribou Coffee. "Caribou Coffee's Arch of Hope is part of a larger effort this October where we are providing different ways to brighten the day of someone impacted by cancer."
Caribou Coffee is also asking patrons to post messages of support for cancer patients and their families using the hashtag #CaribouUplifts. Posts will be curated in an online gallery at CaribouCoffeeUplifts.com.
