Caribou Coffee announces preliminary 2Q 2007 results

MINNEAPOLIS Caribou Coffee Company Inc.'s same-store sales increased 1 percent for the thirteen weeks ended July 1, 2007, compared with the same 13 weeks in the prior year.
 
Comparable net sales were flat as compared with the same 26-week period in the prior year. Franchised stores are not included in the comparable coffeehouse net sales calculations.
  
Preliminary 13-week net sales was approximately $62.7 million, an increase of 11 percent over the same period in the prior year. For the 26-week period ended July 1, 2007, preliminary total net sales rose 11 percent over the same period in the prior year.
 
Michael J. Coles, Caribou Coffee chairman and CEO, also announced that the company has signed a domestic development agreement for the northern New Jersey market. The agreement provides for a minimum of 20 coffeehouses over the next six years.
