California Tortilla vies for social networking award

ROCKVILLE, Md. — Several weeks after launching its major online social networking campaign, California Tortilla has the opportunity to win a "Shorty" award, given to the best posters on Twitter, an emerging interactive Web site. The award is voted on by fans, and California Tortilla will give a free taco on "Tweet Day," Jan. 6, to customers who nominate the chain.
Shorty awards will be given out in several different categories such as news, humor and food.The company's Twitter name is "caltort." The first round of nominations closes Dec. 31, with the top five in each category advancing to the next phase.
