California Tortilla is changing its menu up this month, giving its customers more variety, according to a company press release. New options, said Bob Phillips, president of California Tortilla Group, include:
Chef-inspired creations. They feature Cal Tort's famous signature burritos plus three popular limited-time offerings that are now here to stay: the Bacon Chicken Club Burrito, Korean BBQ Burrito and Caribbean Mango Salad. The California Sunset Bowl is the fourth new menu addition created by California Tortilla chef Keith Goldman: grilled mesquite chicken and fresh veggies on a bed of spinach, rice and black beans with low-fat Spicy Sunset sauce, salsa, cilantro and sliced avocado.
Self-inspired creations. This is a completely new section on the California Tortilla menu. Customers can concoct their own Cal-Mex invention from an abundance of ingredients by choosing an entrée (including burrito or bowl, salad, fajitas, nachos and more), then selecting a protein or veggies, and finally, loading up on extras from a list of "Fresh Stuff to Add."
Fresh Deal. It's a "grown-up" version of the traditional combo meal, giving customers even more flexibility by allowing them to get a drink and their choice of any side item or dessert for only $2.99, Phillips said. Side items to choose from include chips and salsa, chips and queso, chips and guacamole, Mexican rice, black beans, rice and beans, a side salad, a cookie, or a brownie.
"Flexible food choices and unique flavor combinations have long been hallmarks of the California Tortilla menu, and we are glad to see fast casual trends moving in the same direction," Phillips said. "Our menu is now 100-percent customizable, allowing for the Cal Tort dining experience to be unique to each individual customer."
California Tortilla's new menu is currently rolling out regionally and will be available at all locations by Nov. 1.
