St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Burrito Boarder will be opening its second location in the Carrollwood neighborhood of Tampa, this month. The first store opened in September 2008 in downtown Saint Petersburg, and expansion plans are underway to franchise the concept in other nearby markets.
The concept was created by husband and wife team Giorgio and Lisa Bertrand, who also recently completed the chain’s franchise disclosure document.
The restaurants serve naturally raised hormone-free meats, fresh marinated chicken and grilled fish, and organic and locally sourced veggies.
“We have created a high quality, healthier, more flavorful, value based menu that fits into the lifestyles of our target market,” said Lisa Bertrand. “Our guests love to hang out with us and some fans are in every day. We are not reinventing the wheel here … what we have done is to raise the bar on value by providing quality, fresh, non-commissary products in a restaurant that tantalizes the senses and offers our guests amazing service.”
