BurgerFi is going to college. It has signed a franchise agreement with the Philadelphia-based dining services company, Aramark, for its first college location at Temple University in Philadelphia, according to a company press release. It will open in August inside the renovated Howard Gittis Student Center food court.
"Developing this new location with Aramark brings immense value to our expanding franchise network, and we are excited to see BurgerFi at a college campus such as Temple," CEO Corey Winograd, said in the release. "We value this relationship with Aramark, a world leader in bringing innovative restaurant brands to large-scale venues."
BurgerFi announced its first non-traditional site agreement last month, partnering with HMSHost to operate a BurgerFi restaurant at Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
The chain plans to open up to 20 restaurants this year, primarily through franchise development and is targeting Virginia, Washington D.C., North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and New York, according to the release.
