BurgerFi has signed a franchise agreement with HMS Host to open its first airport unit. Propelled by the company's ongoing expansion and surge in franchise development, the agreement for the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport demonstrates the brand's growth potential, BurgerFi CEO Corey Winograd, said in a company press release.
"Over the past five years, the efforts of our dedicated corporate team and franchisees have propelled BurgerFi from a regional brand to a national, industry leader, poised for strategic growth, and we look forward to accelerating this momentum," he said.
HMSHost, which provides food and beverage services for 120 airports throughout the globe and 99 motorways in North America, will open the unit May 31 in Terminal 1.
BurgerFi plans to open 20 restaurants this year, targeting Virginia, Washington D.C., North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and New York for domestic expansion, according to the release.
