Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is opening 15 new locations in a period of exceedingly rapid growth and sales, according to a news release. The chain is reporting 13 consecutive quarters of sales growth, with year-to-date sales up more than 8 percent. Likewise, the chain has opened eight locations thus far in 2016, while CEO Jim Sahene said that last year, 66 stores achieved all-time high sales volumes, according to the news release.
Immediate unit growth includes three stores opening in Memphis, Tennessee, under Garosa Partners, LLC, and in Southern California, current franchisee Larry Johnson is opening a third store in Huntington Beach, while new franchisee, RTC Group, LLC, is opening a Redondo Beach unit and another new franchisee, OTP Enterprises, LLC, is building a Garden Grove store. Hithasoft, LLC is opening a Los Angeles store, though the location is still undetermined.
Houston will see its third Bruster’s, which is being opened by Larry Lakind, in addition to his Cypress, Texas unit, while in Pittsburgh, PBJC, Inc. will open in Robinson Township, as well as another location still unannounced. Atlanta gets two more locations, while Johnny and Grace Bil open a store in Duluth and another current franchisee, JR&CK Enterprises & Assoc., Inc., is building a location on Cascade Road there.
