Broken Rice breaks ground in Denver

February 6, 2017

Authentic Asian street food concept Broken Rice opened in Denver on Feb. 2, according to a press release.

Broken Rice serves classic Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai dishes and uses local ingredients.

"Fast casual Southeast Asian cuisine is an untapped market, and with Denver being the hub of many successful fast casual concepts, we are confident that Broken Rice will fit right in," Ric Gordon, president of Broken Rice, said in the release.

"The idea behind Broken Rice was to offer a flexible model: The restaurant has a full bar and full-time bartender serving guests who want to dine in, and offers the more typical fast casual style of service where guests order at the register and their food is delivered to them. Broken Rice caters to the way Denver residents are already used to eating -- for modern life on the go."

The concept boasts significant shareholders including Bobby Baldwin, CEO of MGM Mirage Resorts; Chamath Palithitaya, former Facebook executive and part owner of the Golden State Warriors and Guy Laliberte, founder of Cirque du Soleil, according to the release.
