Boston Market has opened its second restaurant on a military installation in the last two months.
The Army & Air Force Exchange Service and Boston Market opened a new location at 2799 Rose Street on Ft. Meade in Maryland. A restaurant was also opened at Ft. Bliss in Texas in October.
"Supporting service members and their families is a key priority for us at Boston Market, and we are delighted to be bringing our homestyle meals to the locations where many of our nation's soldiers, airmen and airwomen live and work," CEO George Michel said in a company press release.
Boston Market is also recruiting former service members to join its ranks, collaborating with military placement and transition offices and utilizing military and veteran job posting boards to attract prospective candidates.
"Veterans bring many desirable qualities to the table, including leadership, reliability and teamwork, all of which translate quite well to our work environment," said Michel.
There are 460 Boston Market restaurant locations nationwide. Recently, the company opened its first food court location inside the Syracuse, NY, Destiny USA shopping center. Additional expansion – in both traditional and non-traditional locations – is planned in the coming months.
