Former NFL player and Heisman Trophy winner Billy Sims, the co-founder of Billy Sims BBQ, will host the grand opening ceremony for his concept's newest location along with some of his former Detroit Lions teammates.
The unit is located in Norman, OK and owned and operated by Trent Crow and his wife Nancy. The couple owns three additional Billy Sims locations throughout Oklahoma, according to a press release.
"We love the quality of life as franchisees as well as creating jobs in our community, but we very specifically chose Billy Sims BBQ," Crow said. "We were attracted to the highly structured-operations, great food and competitive pricing. Billy Sims' name may get guests in the door, but the delicious barbeque keeps them coming back."
The store's grand opening will be held on Feb. 3 to 4.
"Trent and Nancy are among our most loyal and successful franchisees," Jeff Jackson, co-founder and CEO of Billy Sims BBQ, said in the release. "Despite being Billy Sims BBQ's smallest location, their mid-west city unit, which was a 90-day Quiznos conversion, boasts one of the largest revenues in our entire franchise system. I have zero doubt their Norman site selection will prove to be a smart move."
Crow, who joined Billy Sims BBQ after retiring from Wal-Mart as a marketing manager, helped get Billy Sims BBQ sauce into Wal-Mart stores, making it the second-best selling BBQ sauce in OK stores.
