Bd's Mongolian Grill's Veterans Day fundraiser during the first part of this month, raised $24,543 for the Folds of Honor Foundation, which supports spouses and children of disabled and fallen service members, according to a press release.
"The support from bd’s Mongolian Grill (and) their decision to stand with Folds of Honor throughout 2016, drives our mission to support the families of those who have sacrificed so much defending our great nation," said the founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation, Major Dan Rooney. “We are so thankful for their donation and commitment to our cause. We couldn’t do it without amazing patriots like them."
In 2015, Folds of Honor gave more than 2,500 scholarships to family members. In 2016, the company raised mmore than $54,000 for the foundation by combining its Memorial Day and Veterans Day campaigns.
"Bd’s is grateful to have had the opportunity to educate and connect communities across the nation while in joint support of an amazing cause," said President and COO Joe Phraner, in the release. “It is a privilege to stand with Folds of Honor and help our nation’s heroes and their families."
For every $5 bd's gift card sold, the company gave $2 pin-up slips to show support, according to the release.
