Appeals court overturns ruling in Starbucks trademark case
February 15, 2007
NEW YORK — The 2nd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals overturned a lower court ruling in a case filed by Seattle-based Starbucks Corp. against a New Hampshire couple who were marketing a coffee blend under the name "Mr. Charbucks". In a Feb. 15 ruling, the court overturned a Dec. 22 decision which said that the operations of Center Tuftonboro, N.H.-based Black Bear Micro Roastery, owned by Jim and Annie Clark, were too small to have an impact on Starbuck's operations.
