Ahipoki announces Arizona expansion plans

California's Ahipoki is opening its latest location Monday in downtown Phoenix, and has six other units planned for the state of Arizona. To celebrate Monday's opening, the chain is giving guests 50 percent off all bowls on Aug. 25, according to a company press release.

"The opening of CityScape firmly plants the Ahipoki brand at the epicenter of downtown Phoenix," said Jason Jantzen, managing of partner of Phoenix Marketing Associates, the company behind the Arizona opening.

Arizona will also have the following locations:

  • Camelback Colonnade at 20th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix (mid-September)
  • San Tan in Gilbert (October)
  • Avondale, 103 Road and McDowell (fall 2018)
  • Queen Creek (Fall 2018)
  • 92nd and Shea in Scottsdale (Q1 2018)
  • And Chandler Fashion Center (Q1 2018)

"Our organization is excited to announce these upcoming six locations which will make it more convenient than ever for our fans to enjoy our healthy, quick-serve poke concept," Jantzen said.

Poke is a Hawaiian-inspired dish featuring diced sushi-grade fish, such as ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp and yellowtail, garnished with vegetables and toppings like daikon sprouts, seaweed salad and masago, served over a bowl of rice.

Ahipoki is expanding in California and Arizona, and a second Washington location is slated for this fall as well, according to the release.
