Abundant Brands acquires Bajio Mexican Grill

American Fork, Utah-based Abundant Brands has acquired the fast casual concept Bajio Mexican Grill from Franchise Brands, a subsidiary of Doctor's Associates Inc., DBA Subway.
 
The acquisition of the Bajio brand from a subsidiary of Doctor's Associates marks an important and strategic accomplishment for Utah-based Abundant Brands.
 
"As a Bajio franchisee for the past four years, we have seen the brand grow from just six stores in Utah to over forty stores in eleven states," said Logan Hunter, CEO and chairman of Abundant Brands. "With Jason Stowe, one of Bajio's original founding partners, assuming the role of company president, we are confident this growth will continue, as new markets discover the amazing flavors, atmosphere and service that have made Bajio a brand leader in the fresh Mexican segment of the restaurant industry."
 
Hunter notes Bajio has already become a significant market presence in Utah, with 25 locations  in operation statewide. In addition to hiring Stowe as president, Abundant Brands has hired William Bruce as chief operating officer, and Curtis Dye as director of marketing.
 
Bajio Mexican Grill is headquartered in American Fork, Utah. The brand was founded in 2001 and has 47 franchised units in eleven states.
