Restaurants coming to the rescue amid COVID-19

Restaurants all over the United States are doing their best to provide meals, supplies and funds to employees, frontline workers and members of their communities.

Although declining sales from mandated closures are forcing restaurants around the United States to layoff workers and temporality close in some cases, their willingness to help one another as well as health care workers battling the pandemic is inspiring. It's not surprising, however, as the restaurant industry has always banned together to support their employees and communities. 

Below are just a few ways in which they are making a difference, and as this list of good deeds continues to grow, we'll update it accordingly. 

June 2

Taco Cabana
Taco Cabana is offering kids a free lunch at all Texas locations through the end of summer, according to a company press release. The program is available to kids, 12 and under, every weekday from 11 a.m. to noon.

Taco Cabana, a subsidiary of Fiesta Restaurant Group Inc., was founded in 1978 in Texas and operates 146 locations.
 

June 1

Yogurtland
Yogurtland’s initiative, #froyoitforward, has donated over 10,000 ounces of frozen yogurt to health-care workers, delivery and transportation personnel, and disadvantaged children in the Southern California region, according to a company press release. 

Yogurtland was founded in Irvine, California and has 300 locations.

May 29

The Pizza Cupcake
The Pizza Cupcake has donated  3,500 Pizza Cupcakes to organizations and health-care workers in the New York area, according to a company press release. Founders Chef Andrea Meggiato and his wife, Michelle, have also been self-funding donations for more than 700 Pizza Cupcakes to feed the young girls of The Lower East Side Girls Club and their 100 families.

The Pizza Cupcake was founded in 2018.
 

May 20

Schlotzsky's
Schlotzsky's is encouraging customers to Pay it Forward by purchasing lunch for first responders and medical frontline workers, according to a company press release. Customers can purchase a boxed lunch, for $7, which will be delivered to those on the front lines of the pandemic. 

Schlotzsky's was founded in 1971 in Austin, Texas, and has 300+ locations.

White Castle
White Castle is showing appreciation for grocery store and other foodservice employees by offering a 20% discount through June 15 at any White Castle location, according to a company press release. The 20% offer is also available to other essential workers, including first responders and healthcare personnel.  

White Castle was founded in  1921 in Wichita, Kansas, and has more than 365 restaurants around the world.

Pieology

Pieology in La Mirada, California, thanked hospital workers with 150 free pizzas.


Pieology has partnered with Chubb Insurance in La Mirada, California, to deliver 150 pizzas to front-line workers at Kindred Hospital, according to a company press release.  

Pieology was founded in 2011 in Fullerton, California, and has 130 restaurants in 22 states and internationally. 

May 15

Chuck E. Cheese 
Chuck E. Cheese locations are donating a percentage of Friday's sales to the Boys & Girls Club of America in celebration of the International Day of Families. In addition, each restaurant will give family meals to organizations in their community, including first responders and those working on the front line, according to a company press release.

Chuck E. Cheese was founded in1977 in San Jose, CA it has 612 locations.

BurgerFi
BurgerFi is partnering with Marcum LLP, one of the largest independent accounting firms in the U.S., to deliver up to 20,000 meals to hospital workers and first responders on the frontlines of COVID-19, according to a company press release. 
 
BurgerFi was founded in 2011 in Florida and has 125 restaurants domestically and internationally. 

Farmer Boys 

Farmer Boys announced two initiatives to help feed health-care workers and provide meals to those in need, according to a company press release. The brand is selling limited-edition T-shirts and giving all proceeds to Feeding America. Additionally, for every Big Cheese purchased between May 11-17, Farmer Boys will match burger-for-burger donating burgers to local hospital workers.
 
Farmer Boys was founded in 1981 in California and has 90 locations. 

Yogurtland
Yogurtland is putting cups of yogurt in the hands of so many affected by CV-19, including those at Dreamcenter, Mission Hospital, Children's Hospital of Orange County, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, St. Francis Medical Center and more, according to a company press release. In an effort to #froyoitforward, Yogurtland has donated over 10,000 ounces of frozen yogurt to healthcare workers, delivery and transportation personnel and disadvantaged children in the Southern California region.

May 11

Wahlburgers
Wahlburgers is partnering with Crescent Capital for its #WhateverYouNeed campaign to feed first responders, hospital workers, grocery workers, other frontline heroes and families in need in 18 cities across North America, according to a company press release. So far, it has delivered more than 10,000 meals. 

Wahlburgers, which was founded in 2011 in Hingham, Massachusetts, has 32 locations throughout North America and the U.K.

Saladworks
Saladworks has donated over 1,145 meals to health-care workers though its Fives for Lives fundraising campaign. Its goal is to reach 5,000 meals or $25,000 in donations, according to a company press release. 

Guests have the option to donate $5, and the salad chain matches each $5 to help provide meals.

Saladworks was founded in 1986 in New Jersey and has over 100 locations in 18 states and two countries.

Paisano's Pizza 
Paisano's Pizza is offering free meals to first responders in uniform in the Washington Metro Area as well as offering a 20% discount to staff members at local hospitals, according to a company press release.

Orders can be placed by phone or walk-up and delivered curbside, and the program will run as long as shelter-in-place orders are still in effect in local communities. 

Paisano's Pizza was founded in 1998 in Virginia and operates 40 locations in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. 
 

May 7

Casey's General Stores,
Casey's General Stores Inc. is partnering with Feeding America to provide funds to help school-aged children and their families. Casey's half-million-dollar program includes an immediate cash donation to support COVID-19 relief to the 52 food banks that reach Casey's communities, as well as nearly 40,000 pounds of food product to two Feeding America member food banks, according to a company press release.

Casey's General Stores is a Fortune 500 company operating over 2,200 convenience stores in 16 states. 

Chronic Tacos
Chronic Tacos has donated more than 400 lunches to schools in Huntington Beach, including Peterson Elementary School, according to a company press release. The brand had its first school lunch donation at Perry Elementary School in April. 
 
Chronic Tacos, founded in Orange County, has over 50 locations in 12 states. 

Lee's Sandwiches
Through May 10, Lee's Sandwiches is giving health-care workers, police, firefighters and paramedics a free sandwich of their choice as well as a coffee, soda or water bottle, according to a company press release.
 
Lee's Sandwiches was founded in 1983 in California, it had  60 stores in five states.

May 4

SoBol
SoBol is donating bowls to frontline health-care workers using proceeds from the sales of its SoBol branded socks, according to a company press release.  So far , more than 500 meals have been donated to local hospitals in the Long Island community. The brand has also partnered with Carroll's Kitchen, a nonprofit corporation that has donated over 2,000 meals to the Long Island community in order to contribute to their donations.

SoBol was founded in 2014, in Long Island and has 40 locations. 

Subway
In honor of National Nurses Week, Subway Restaurants and Postmates are joining together to donate subs to health-care workers serving on the COVID-19 frontlines in the U.S., according to a company press release. For each Subway order purchased via Postmates with a value of $15 or more, a 6-inch sub will be donated to health-care workers at participating hospitals. Subs will be delivered by Postmates in coordination with its non-profit partner Feed Hero Nurses, a volunteer-run organization in partnership with Random Acts. 
 
In addition, Subway has donated 15 million meals to Feeding America to help those in need during this time. 
 
Subway has locations in more than 100 countries, operated by more than 20,000 Franchise Owners.

Pieology Pizzeria 
Pieology Pizzeria is rewarding 15 everyday heroes with Care Packs and $250 cash prizes sponsored by Hidden Valley Ranch, according to a company press release. Guests may nominate a hero in their communities by submitting a story via social media, tagging @pieology and #everydayhero through May 16.

Pieology was founded in 2011 in Fullerton, California,  and now operates 140 locations.

April 29

Curry Up Now
Curry Up Now launched the Roll it Forward campaign to allow guests to purchase $12 Donation Meals that the chain will match meal-for-meal, according to a company press release. Donation meals will be delivered to hospitals, recently unemployed or furloughed hospitality workers, those in homeless shelters, and others who have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

"We are so grateful for the support we've received from our loyal guests during this time, but we also want to show our appreciation for the hardworking healthcare professionals and help others who have been impacted by COVID-19," Founder and CEO Akash Kapoor said in the release. "We have established the Roll It Forward campaign so that we, together with our guests, can 'pay it forward' to the deserving health heroes and hospitality workers in our communities."
 
Curry Up Now began as a food truck in San Francisco in 2009, and now has 16 locations. 

Cold Stone Creamery
Cold Stone Creamery has launched a Give Back eGift card campaign where 10% of every card sold goes to Bethenny Frankel's program — strong — which is working with manufacturers to ensure that the necessary personal protective equipment is sent to people and hospitals across the nation. 
 
The bstrong program is a disaster relief initiative that provides real-time emergency assistance to individuals and their families in crisis.

Cold Stone Creamery was founded in 1988 in Tempe, Arizona, and has 1,500 locations in 30 countries.

LaRosa's Pizzerias
LaRosa's Pizzerias has partnered with the Council on Aging to prepare meals for older adults living in low-income senior apartment buildings in their communities, according to a company press release. 

LaRosa's was founded in 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio, it operates 65 pizzerias serving neighborhoods in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.  

Cousins Subs
Cousins Subs, Summerfest and Disrupt Idea Co. partnered in a week-long fundraiser to feed frontline health-care workers at Aurora Health Care, according to a company press release. The week-long event raised over $9,600, which paid for 2,215 subs (discounted 25%) delivered to four Aurora Health Care Medical Centers.

Cousins Subs was founded in Wisconsin in 1972 and has 100 sub sandwich shops throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana.
Just Salad
Just Salad is partnering with New York City Chef Joey Campanaro to launch The Big Apple Salad, available via online ordering or the Just Salad App. Proceeds will go to Relief Opportunities for all Restaurants, which provides cash assistance to individual restaurant workers who face an immediate need for financial aid following the COVID19 outbreak, according to a company press release. 
 
Just Salad, founded in 2006 in New York City and has nearly 50 locations in the U.S. and Dubai,  has also donated 10,000 meals a week to Mount Sinai hospitals starting in March  


Fired Pie
Fired Pie is donating large catering packages to hospitals during COVID-19, according to a company press release. It's also received $1,300 in gift card donations for hospitals and matched that donation to give a total of $2,600 Fired pie gift cards to health-care workers at Valley Wise Health Hospital in Phoenix.

Fired Pie was founded in Arizona in 2013, and it has 21 locations across Arizona.

April 28

Capriotti's
In Las Vegas, Capriotti's is helping the community by offering free grilled cheese for kids with the purchase of a full-sized entrée. The 112-unit chain also created discounted box lunches for Las Vegas Frontline Food Fund Campaign, which  helps feed doctors, nurses and hospital employees on the frontline of the coronavirus fight, according to a company press release. 

Capriotti's Sandwich Shop was founded in Wilmington, Delaware and has locations in 16 states.

Luna Grill
Luna Grill is providing 50,000 meals to frontline workers and kids in need via "Feeding the Frontline" and “The Good Card” program, according to a company press release. Feeding the Frontline will feed 20,000 local hospital workers over the coming weeks, and "The Good Card” program helps feed children. For every $5 gift card increment purchased, Luna Grill will donate a meal to a kid in need.
 
Luna Grill was founded in San Diego and has 50 locations in Southern California and the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Qdoba
Qdoba's "Everyday Heroes" campaign is rewarding 10,000 healthcare employees, postal workers, delivery drivers, grocery clerks, and more with free burritos according to a company press release. Guests are encouraged to nominate a hero in their life, nominations can be submitted by commenting on the brand's Instagram account and sharing the person or group, the reason and location of their nominees.
 
Additionally, to show appreciation, Qdoba is giving more than $500,000 in bonuses to general and assistant managers at all company-operated locations. 
 
Qdoba was founded in 1995 in Denver and as 731 locations in the United States.

April 27

Soupergirl
Washington D.C.-based Soupergirl has partnered with Spring Valley Farm of West Virginia to deliver "Farmer's Market Boxes to the front doors of DMV residents, according to a company press release. The Market Box costs $35 when added to any soup order and can be purchased on the Soupergirl website, proceeds help support local farmers. 
 
Soupergirl has two brick-and-mortar locations as well as pop-up events and sells its soups at Whole Foods, Costco, Giant, Peapod.com, Wegmans, Lidl, and other natural food stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Nando's
Nando's has catered meals to hospitals near all its locations in North America and is providing free takeout meals to any nurse, doctor or health-care worker in uniform or with a valid health-care ID. So far the South African-based brand has given away more than 49,000 free meals to hospital workers and to laid-off restaurant workers, according to a company press release.

Jersey Mike's
Across the country, Jersey Mike's franchise owners are donating millions of subs to local hospitals and first responders, according to a company press release. Additionally, Jersey Mike's teamed up with Feeding America to donate 20% of sales, at least $1 million, to help the Feeding America nationwide network of 200 food banks. 
 
Jersey Mike's was founded in 1956, Point Pleasant, NJ it has 2,500 locations.
 

April 23

Subway
Subway and Feeding America are teaming up to provide up to 15 million meals to people in need across the country, according to a company press release. Through April 30, for every Footlong ordered via takeout, catering and delivery, Subway will provide a meal to Feeding America.
 
Subway was founded in 1965 in Connecticut and has restaurants in 100 countries. 

Prova Pizzabar
Celebrity Chef Donatella Arpaia, the owner of Prova Pizzabar restaurants, is teaming with Galbani Cheese to donate 200 pizzas the week of April 27 to hospitals and Police precincts around New York City. 

Prova Pizzabar was founded in 2016 in New York City, it has two locations. 

Everytable
Everytable is preparing and delivering 1 million healthy meals to Los Angeles' homebound seniors, the homeless, at-risk college students and others in need, according to a company press release.
 
Everytable was founded in 2013 in Los Angeles, California, it has 8 locations. 

Raising Cane's
Raising Cane's dine-in only locations have shifted operations to make masks instead of its chicken fingers. Crewmembers are being paid to sew three-ply cloth masks and have donated more than 600 masks to local hospitals, according to a company press release. 

"I can't tell you how proud I am of our Crewmembers for stepping up and supporting our community in such a meaningful way," Founder and CEO Todd Graves. "When our Crew came up with the idea, I was immediately on board."
 
Raising Cane's also started its "Cane's In The Moment" Virtual Entertainment Series, where it features a different artist or group every Wednesday and Friday through April 29. During every concert Raising Cane's hosts a fundraiser for health-care workers or disaster relief organizations.

Raising Cane's was founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has more than 500 restaurants in 27 states. 

McDonald's
As a token of appreciation for their selfless service during the COVID-19 pandemic, McDonald's is offering free Thank You Meals through May 5 to health-care workers, police officers, firefighters and paramedics, according to a company press release.

In the U.S., the chain has also donated $3.1 million in food to support local communities, made commitments to support truck drivers across the country, donated 1 million N95 masks to Chicago and donated $1 million to the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund.

Cousins Subs
Cousins Subs, Summerfest, an annual music festival in Wisconsin, and Disrupt Idea Co., a customer experience agency, are partnering to feed frontline health-care workers at Aurora Health Care in Wisconson, according to a company press release. From April 20-26, 2020 the public can make donations, and every dollar will be used to purchase discounted subs from Cousins Subs to be delivered to Aurora, which has 15 hospitals, more than 150 clinics and 70 pharmacies

Wisconsin-based Cousins Subs was founded in 1972 and operate nearly 100 sub sandwich shops in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana

April 20

Chipotle
Chipotle Mexican Grill is launching a buy-one, give-one program to support U.S. health-care workers. From Tuesday through April 26, the chain will donate a burrito to medical professionals every time a Chipotle digital customer names their burrito order "4HEROES" on the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com. Healthcare workers will be able to sign up for a chance to receive their free burritos starting on Nurses Day, May 6.

"We've seen firsthand how real food can go a long way in lifting the spirits of our country's incredibly resilient healthcare community," Chief Marketing Officer Chris Brandt said in a company press release. "We're excited to give fans another opportunity to support our heroes by simply naming their burrito."

Chipotle also has an e-gift card program, where the brand matches 10% of special "Thank You" e-gift card purchases, up to a maximum of $250,000, through May 31. It's donating to Direct Relief, an organization working to provide personal protective equipment and essential medical items to healthcare workers in the U.S. and around the world.

The chain also delivered 100,000 burritos to more than 2,500 health-care facilities around the country during World Health Worker Week.

Dill & Parsley
Dill & Parsley, a five-unit chain in New York City, has organized Support Drive Frontlines NYC to deliver more than 1,500 free meals to NYC hospitals, according to a company press release. For every five meals sponsored by customers, Dill & Parsley provides an additional free meal.

The program has also raised nearly $30,000 to support front line workers.

Hurricane Grill & Wings

Health-care workers pick up their food from Hurricane Grill & Wings at the JFK Medical Center North Campus in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Hurricane Grill & Wings delivered wing platters to health-care employees and first responders in Palm Beach, according to a company press release.The team is continuing to work with hospitals in Florida to add more food deliveries in the coming weeks.
 
Florida-based Hurricane Grill & Wings has 71 locations in 15 U.S. states.

Checkers & Rally's
More than 250 Checkers & Rally's in the U.S. are offering free meals to medical workers and first responders, according to a company press release. Its employees will also receive free small combo meals on days they work.

Several franchisees have also implemented programs to give back to their local communities. Joe Hertzman, the owner of 32 Rally's restaurants in Louisville, has partnered with local schools to donate over 164,800 meals to kids in need and is working with the Boys and Girls Club of Kentuckiana to donate 4,800 meals. He also made a $5,000 personal donation to be used toward Chromebooks for students.

Bruce Keehn, the owner of seven Checkers locations in New Jersey, has donated 2,750 meals for various local organizations including Community Medical Center and Make-A-Wish Foundation.  

Also, Checkers & Rally's made a $100,000 donation through its partnership with No Kid Hungry which was able to provide up to 1 million meals to children in need.

Based in Tampa, Florida, Checkers & Rally's Restaurants Inc., has nearly 900 restaurants across the U.S. 

Zoup Eatery
Across the U.S. and Canada, Zoup Eatery is providing all COVID-19 frontline medical workers free 12-ounce cups of soup on Mondays in April, according to a company press release. Medical badge or work ID can be shown in-store or upon delivery when redeeming.

Zoup, founded in 1998 in Southfield, Michigan, has nearly 100 locations in 19 states/provinces in the U.S. and Canada.

Casey's General Stores
To help communities deal with the impact of COVID-19,  Casey's General Stores has donated more than 30,000 pounds of food to the Food Bank of Iowa. It also donated more than 7,700 pounds to the Terre Haute Catholic Charities, according to a company press release. 

Casey's General Store was founded in 1959 in Boone, Iowa, and it has more than 2,000 convenience stores in 16 Midwestern states.

April 16

PizzaRev
Los Angeles-based PizzaRev partnered with Caulipower last week to deliver over 40 pizzas to supermarkets across Los Angeles County as a way to say thank-you to grocery workers, according to a company press release.  
 
PizzaRev was founded in 2012 and has 31 locations across six states and Mexico.
 
Rally's 
Donnell Thompson, Retired NFL Player and owner of six Rally's locations in Birmingham, Alabama, is giving back to the community during COVID-19 by offering free lunch five days a week to out-of-schools kids as well as police officers and firefighters. 

Kids are able to get lunch through the drive-thru or walking up with a parent, according to a company press release. 
 
Rally's was founded in 1999 in Mobile, Alabama, and has locations in 28 states. 
 
Salata Salad Kitchen
Salata Franchisee Iris Campos has been donating meals to health-care workers with the goal of feeding one medical unit per day in the Houston medical community during COVID-19, according to a company press release.

"It's helped me tremendously to put my energy into helping others right now," she said in the release.  "Instead of worrying about the business, I'd much rather focus on helping now. It really has changed my outlook."

Salata was founded in 2005 in Houston and has more than 90 salad locations.
 
Moe's Southwest Grill
Select Moe's Southwest Grill locations throughout the Southeast have launched Healthcare Hero Wednesdays to support health-care workers In the wake of COVID-19. 
 
Now through May 6, the company will donate a burrito to a hospital employee each time a customer purchases a meal, according to a company press release.
 
Matt Slaine, who is the chain's largest franchisee and owns locations in five states, launched the campaign.

Moe's operates over 700 locations across the country.
 
 
Sticky's Finger Joint
Sticky's Finger Joint, which serves chicken fingers, is donating meals to first responders in New York City through its program, #RandomActofStickys. Customers can submit donations via Sticky's website. No minimum donation required, but $12 will cover the full cost of producing and delivering a meal to a medical professional, hospital worker or first responder, according to a company press release. 
 
Sticky's Finger is based in New York where it has 10 locations. It also has three units in New Jersey.

April 15

Pizza Guys
Pizza Guys, based in Sacramento, California, has delivered more than 5,300 free pizzas to various local hospitals, according to a company press release. The brand takes a trailer to the hospital campuses to serve pizza.

"It has always been important to our brand to be involved in the communities we serve," Shahpour Nejad, CEO and co-founder of Pizza Guys, said in a company press release. "During a time of crisis like we face right now, it is more important than ever that we show our support for the brave heroes who are on the front lines of this fight."
 
Pizza Guys was founded in 1986 and has 70 stores across three states.
 
Oath Pizza
Oath Pizza is offering five Craft Pizza Care Packages featuring its best-selling pizzas prepared fresh, frozen and ready to cook, popular desserts, as well as make-at-home pizza activities for families of all sizes, according to a company press release.

For every care package sold, 10% of profits in April will be donated to Feeding America to support food banks helping communities impacted by COVID-19.
Details on the new packages, include:

  • Kiddo Care Package (starting at $65): This kid-friendly pack serves three and includes three Cutie Pie Cheese Pizzas, two Honduran Chocolate Brownies and a Chewy Marshmallow Bar.
  • Pizza Kit Care Package (starting at $80): This package serves five to seven people and includes all the ingredients to make cheese and pepperoni pizzas.
  • Classic Care Package (starting at $85): This pack serves four to six people and includes four of Oath Pizza's best selling pizzas, two Chewy Marshmallow Bars and two Honduran Chocolate Brownies.
  • Bestseller Care Package (starting at $100): Serving six to eight people, this pack includes six Oath pizza, three Honduran Chocolate Brownies and three Marshmallow Bars.
  • Custom Care Package (starting at $110): This custom package serves six to eight people with six pizzas of your choice, three Chewy Marshmallow Bars and three Honduran Chocolate Brownies 

Oath Pizza started in 2015 on Nantucket Island, it has over 60 locations across the country.
 
Crave Hot Dogs and BBQ
Crave Hot Dogs and BBQ is working with Feeding America's Covid-19 response fund, according to a company press release. The restaurant will donate a portion from every sandwich sold today through May 15 to the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States. 

"Times are unpredictable right now and many people rely on organizations such as these for food and other essentials. It's important now more than ever to make sure we are helping those that are in need or rely on the assistance of these types of programs," Samantha Rincione, co-founder and CEO of Crave Hot Dogs and BBQ, said in the release. From Seattle to New Rochelle, from Baton Rouge to San Francisco, food banks across the country are doing what they do best – feeding people in need within their communities."

Crave was founded in 2018 in New York and has eight locations in five states.

Cousins Subs 
Cousins Subs has launched the Cousins Cares campaign where guests can order free meals to be delivered to essential employees in Wisconsin, according to a company press release. 

Guests may also place orders for a 20-Piece Party Box to be delivered to an essential business in their community, and through April 30, participants will receive $15 off and will not be charged a delivery fee.

Wisconsin-based Cousins Subs was founded in 1972, it has 100 locations in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. 

April 13

Saladworks
Saladworks has launched "Fives for Lives," a program to allow customers to donate to local hospitals. The chain, based in New Jersey, will match each customer's $5 donation by giving a local hospital a free meal, according to a company press release. 
 
Every Friday, participating Saladworks owners will track how many donations were made, donate the monetary amount to the local partner and coordinate the delivery of meals.
 
Saladworks was founded in 1986, in New Jersey and has 110 locations in 18 states and two countries.
 
Papa Gino's
Over the next 10 weeks, Papa Gino's Pizzeria and D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches will donate meals to health-care facilities fighting the outbreak of COVID-19, according to a company press release from their parent company, New England Authentic Eats. 
 
Papa Gino's Pizzeria was founded in 1961 in Boston and operates 100 restaurants in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut.
 
D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches was founded in 1967 and has more than 80 locations in Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.

Ike's Love &Sandwiches 
Ike's Love & Sandwiches is offering a discount card to delivery personnel throughout the month of April.  With proof of ID, drivers may receive a card valid for $7-sandwiches, good for up to four sandwiches per visit. 
 
Also at Ike's, kids eat for only $5 with the order of a regular sandwich and free delivery when ordering though the Ike's app. 
 
Lastly, each Friday Ike's is releasing a limited  "social distancing-themed" sandwich for $5, according to a company press release. 
 
Founded in 2007 in San Francisco, Ike's Love & Sandwiches has 71 locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.

Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes
Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes is helping franchise owners implement marketing initiatives to  encourage a steady stream of business during COVID-19. The chain is offering free delivery, integrating curbside delivery into its rewards app, as well as other incentives that local owners can offer to drive brand sales and awareness, according to a company press release.

Mooyah is also supporting local communities through the current crisis. Over half it locations, for example, are offering essential grocery items, such as potato and multigrain buns, whole Idaho potatoes and packs of raw Angus beef. Some locations are also hosting canned food drives to collect non-perishables for those in need, according to a company press release. 

Mooyah opened in 2007 in Plano, Texas, and now has 100 locations in 20 U.S. states and nine countries.
 
Bareburger 
Bareburger and GIVN have teamed up to create "Feed a Frontline Hero," to deliver free meals and bottled water to health-care workers on the frontlines of COVID-19, according to a company press release.  Bareburger is delivering more than 75 meals a day, each including a bottle of GIVN Water, to various hospitals across New York City during the month of April.
 
From Bareburger's website, customers may nominate a family member or friend who works in the medical field in New York City. The nominees will be entered to win food and bottled water dropped off at their hospitals. 
 
Bareburger was founded in 2009 in Queens, New York, and has 38 locations in the US.

Inspire Brands
The Inspire Brands Foundation, which includes Arby's Foundation, the Buffalo Wild Wings Foundation, Sonic Foundation and the Jimmy John's Foundation, has launched a $1 million COVID-19 relief fund, supporting childhood hunger and restaurant industry relief efforts, according to a company press release.

A portion of the funds from the Arby's Foundation is going to support GENYOUth's COVID-19 Emergency School Nutrition Fund to provide up to 33 schools grants of $3,000 each to for supplies for meal distribution and delivery.

Inspire Brands Inc., founded in 2018 and formerly known as Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc., is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It operates 11,100 restaurants in 16 countries, making it the fourth largest restaurant company in the U.S.
 
Biggby Coffee
Biggby Coffee, based in East Lansing, Michigan, has partnered with The Sam Bernstein Law Firm to provide first responders and health-care workers hot or iced brewed coffee through April 19. 

The chain, founded in 1995, has 230 cafes across nine states including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Florida and Texas.
 
Chicken Salad Chick
Chicken Salad Chick's Houston locations have been supporting health-care workers and first responders with its "Feeding the Front Line" initiative. For every Large Quick Chick or Family Meal sold, the chain is matching it and delivering meals to frontline locations, according to a company press release.

Other franchise owners have adopted the initiative and thousands of meals have been donated.

Chicken Salad Chick's has also participated in the "Donate A Meal," which allows a guest to order a meal from to be delivered to a hospital or first responder location. More than 1,000 meals were donated last week. 

The chain was founded in 2008 in Auburn, Alabama, and has 146 stores in 16 states.
 
Dunkin'
The Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation is providing $1.25 million in emergency funding to support health and hunger relief organizations on the frontlines of the Coronavirus response, according to a company press release. 

Founded in 2006, the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation helps food banks, children's hospitals and nonprofit organizations to fund environments and experiences for kids.

Part of the emergency funding includes a $250,000 donation to the Boston Resiliency Fund which provides services to Boston residents whose health and well-being are most immediately impacted by the pandemic.

Dunkin' has 12,000 locations in 36 countries.

Noodles and Company
Noodles and Company is launching Noodles Family Meals for a cause, which serves four and is available for quick pick-up or the curbside pick-up at the chain's 350 locations nationwide, according to a company press release. 

For every family meal package purchased, Noodles will donate a regular-sized bowl to health-care workers through April 30 when ordering directly from Noodles.com or the Noodles app. 

Noodles & Company, founded in 1995 in Broomfield, Colorado, has 410 locations. 

Fired Pie
Phoenix-based Fired Pie is donating catering packages to local hospitals and health care workers at a local correctional facility, according to a company press release. 

The 21-unit chain has also received $1,300 in gift card donations from individual donors and is matching that donation for a total of $2,600 Fired pie gift cards to health-care workers. In addition, Fried Pie is giving PCH employees 50% off meals on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
 
Ledo Pizza
Ledo Pizza has launched its "Pizzas for the Frontline" donating meals to medical and first responder facilities. 
 
Now through May 31, Ledo Pizza is accepting donations that will go directly towards sending pizzas, calzones and salads to medical and first responder facilities. 

"We want to do what we can to support the brave men and women that are working on the frontlines during this pandemic," Ledo Pizza President Jamie Beall said in a company press release. "With help from Ledo Pizza fans and partners like Ironmark and Advanced Radiology, we have the ability to say, ‘thank you' by giving back to these heroes."
 
 Ledo Pizza was founded in 1955 in Maryland and has more than 100 locally owned locations in seven states.
 
White Castle
White Castle is offering complimentary meals through April 30 to health-care workers and EMTs. With a valid ID, workers may go through the drive-thru of any White Castle to receive one free Combo Meal or Breakfast Combo, according to a company press release.

The chain is also delivering Crave Cases of Sliders to hospitals and other health-care facilities in local areas, according to a company press release. 

April 8

UNO Pizzeria & Grill
UNO Pizzeria & Grill is providing complimentary pizza to more than 1,000 Boston-area children for their virtual birthday parties with At-Home Make-Your-Own Pizza Kits, according to a company press release. 
In an effort to help kids stay connected with friends, despite school closings and social distancing, through virtual birthday parties, UNO' s will randomly select 200 Boston- area kids as well as up to five of their closest friends to participate throughout April and May. 

Uno Restaurant Holdings Corporation, based in Boston, was founded in 1943 in Chicago and now has 93 locations in 19 states, and the District of Columbia, Honduras, Qatar, India, and Saudi Arabia.

Beyond Sushi, a vegan, plant-based and kosher chain based in NYC, delivered meals to 42 health care workers at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens.

The restaurant's owners Guy and Tali Vaknin have also started a fundraiser of their own where for every $200 raised, they'll send another care package of individual meals to a local hospital. 

The husband-and-wife duo is donating 250 plant-based meals to the medical teams at Elmhurst Hospital, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Metropolitan Hospital, Lincoln Medical Center, and NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center. 
 
Beyond Sushi was founded in 2012, and has six locations in Manhattan.
 
Nando's Peri-Peri
In just 10 days, Nando's Peri-Peri has provided nearly 16,000 free meals to hospital workers and laid-off restaurant workers in the U.S., according to a company press release. 
 
On March 26, the chain, based in Johannesburg, South Africa, launched the program, which provides free Nando's takeout to any nurse, doctor or health care worker in uniform or with a valid healthcare ID, as well as catered meals to hospitals near each Nando's in North America, and up to 50 meals per day per restaurant for laid-off members of the restaurant industry.  
 
Nando's opened in 1987 and is now in 23 countries on five continents, including its 42 restaurants in and around Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC, and Chicago. 

Fields Good Chicken
Fields Good Chicken has provided more than 750 meals to health care workers across Manhattan hospitals, according to a company press release.

The Manhattan-based chain has also launched Birds for Good, which allows people to donate any dollar amount, and 100% of the donations go toward providing nourishing, nutrient-dense meals to medical workers on the frontlines. 

Fields Good Chicken opened in 2014 and has six NYC locations. 

Dough Doughnuts
NYC's Dough Doughnuts has launched the Frontline Sweet Support, where customer contributions will help provide free boxes of treats to hospitals and health care workers in the tri-state area battling the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a company press release. 

Dough Doughnuts was founded in 2010 in Brooklyn. In 2015, it expanded into Manhattan and added two kiosk locations in Urbanspace Vanderbilt (Grand Central) and City Kitchen (Time Square). 

In hopes of feeding 4 million hospital workers and first responders across the country over the next few weeks, Little Caesars is donating and delivering 1 million pizzas, according to a company press release.

Customers can join the effort by using the Little Caesars app to send a pizza to medical personnel, police, and firefighters in their local areas. 

Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, Little Caesars was founded in 1959 as a single, family owned restaurant. It's now the third-largest pizza chain in the world with stores in the U.S. as well as 26 countries and territories.

 

April 7

Dickey's Barbecue Pit
Dickey's Barbecue Pit has donated 100,000 Sandwiches to first responders and grocery store employees serving on the front line in Arizona, according to a company press release. 

The Dallas-based barbecue concept has roughly 20 Phoenix-area locations that have partnered to give free barbecue to hundreds of local essential businesses, such as pharmacies, independent doctors' offices and grocery chains like Costco and Kroger.

The chain was founded in 1941 by Travis Dickey and has over 500 locations in 44 states and two locations in the Middle East. 
 
Front Burner Restaurants
Since launching March 25, Furlough Kitchen has provided more than 3,000 free meals to furloughed hospitality workers in Dallas. Formed in response to the COVID-19 crisis by Front Burner Restaurants and CitySquare, the non-profit operation is a curbside pick-up kitchen that provides one free individually packaged meal each day to furloughed hospitality workers, according to a company press release.

Furlough Kitchen utilizes Front Burner's catering kitchen, Vestals Catering Co., and CitySquare's support network to create a united team ready to cook a hot meal for anyone affected by restaurant and event closures, CEO Randy Dewitt said in the press release.

Andrews Distributing, which distributes over 700 beer brands to 26 North and South Texas counties, joined the cause this week and is sponsoring all of Furlough Kitchen's meals Monday through Friday. 

Furlough Kitchen, which has committed to feeding furloughed hospitality workers for at least three months, is offering free Furlough Kitchen franchise opportunities across the country. Baton Rouge-based Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux was the first to take advantage of this opportunity by opening Furlough Kitchen by Walk-On's, according to the release.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe
Tropical Smoothie Cafe will donate 100,000 smoothies nationwide to local health care workers and first responders as part of its #InItTogether campaign to help support those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a company press release. 

To reach the goal of 100,000 smoothies, each cafe has been challenged to donate at least 100 smoothies. As of March 27, the chain had delivered nearly  20,000 smoothies across 20 states and 30 markets, 

"As a small business owner, I was grateful for the opportunity to show our local first responders and health-care workers who go above and beyond for us every day," Nick Crouch, a multi-unit franchisee with Tropical Smoothie Cafe and the CEO of DYNE Hospitality Group, said in the release. "Even if it is just in a small way, we want them to know we appreciate their hard work that we're all in this together!"

Tropical Smoothie Cafe, founded in 1997 in Tallahassee, Florida, has more than 830 locations.

April 6

Boloco
Boston-based Boloco has called on its customers to help feed frontline workers. As of April 1, the eight-unit chain's  "Feed the Frontlines" program has raised more than $33,000 benefiting frontline workers in Boston and the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont,  Boloco President Erin Childs said in an email

"For as long as Boloco Fans and guests who can't visit us generously buy meals for frontline workers, it keeps a couple of our restaurants open, a few dozen people fully-employed, and frontline workers fed," she said. "There is no such thing as 'winning' right now for most of us, but it's a decent trifecta in these insanely uncertain times, at least for a few days at a time."

Boloco has temporarily closed most of its locations but plans to reopen when the pandemic passes.

Coolgreens
In response to these unprecedented times, Oklahoma-based Coolgreens is staying committed to its mission to "fuel healthy communities with fresh food" by announcing its "Salads of Hope" initiative.
 
For each salad purchased starting through April 12, the healthy lifestyle eatery will donate a salad to a local hospital in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, according to a company press release.
 
Founded in 2009, Coolgreens has nine locations throughout Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Dallas-Fort Worth.

Fatburger
Los Angeles-based Fatburger is using its food truck to provide meals to hospital workers. It made its first stop last week at Dignity Health Los Angeles, where it served 150 meals and is making its rounds at other area hospitals throughout the coming weeks serving up to 500 meals at a time, according to a company press release. 

The chain hopes to provide at least 4,000 meals to local hospitals.

"Los Angeles is a city of dreamers," CEO Andy Wiederhorn said in the release. "Right now, our health-care workers are fighting on our front lines to protect our city. We're humbled to help them in a small way as they fight to keep that dream alive for all of us."

Firehouse Subs
Firehouse Subs restaurant owners across the country have partnered with Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation to donate more than 9,000 subs to firefighters, police officers and health care workers, as well as individuals and families in need and seniors who are unable to leave their homes, according to a company press release.

So far, the chain has donated:

Firehouse Subs, based in Jacksonville, Florida, has more than 1,000 locations.

 

Four Foods Group
Mercato Partners, a growth capital investor, and Four Foods Group, which owns more than 170 fast casual locations, including Mo'Bettahs Hawaiian Style, Swig, and R&R BBQ, have launched two programs to help sustain each brand's full-time employees, according to a company press release.

The food establishment founders have joined forces to commit $250,000 each to create a $1 million fund designed to keep their 1,600 employees throughout Utah, Arizona and Idaho paid and working during this time of uncertainty.

"We are immensely proud of our founder-partners and their team members for their courage and efforts in this moment of change," Andrew Smith, managing partner of the Savory Fund, said in a company press release.

"Where other companies are being forced to cut and slash hours, we want to keep our employees working and provide them with a paycheck to help sustain life. Most of our investors are Utah-based investors and this also gives them a way to support the community in which they live."

All R&R BBQ, Swig and Mo'Bettah's Hawaiian Style locations in Utah, Arizona and Idaho remain open for drive-thru and curbside pickup dining options during this time of social distancing.

In addition to the fund, the group of restaurateurs, along with Costa Vida, is now providing dinner Relief Packs. For $25, customers may order a hot meal that can then be donated to recently laid-off employees, those people working on the front lines in the health care industry and other essential businesses working overtime, or others who might be in need of a meal or a simple pick-me-up. 

Gusto
In partnership with local development firm Carter, Atlanta-based Gusto is serving 300 free meals Monday to the men and women of the Atlanta Police Department.  

"The men and women of Atlanta's police department have a very demanding job, especially in this anxious and unprecedented time, and we're proud to offer this token of our sincere appreciation," Founder Nate Hybl said in a company press release. We're especially grateful to Scott Taylor and our wonderful friends at Carter for helping make this possible,"

Atlanta Police Department members may receive free bowls and wraps from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Gusto location at 782 Ponce de Leon Ave.

The Habit Burger
The Habit Burger has deployed its fleet of food trucks to host 27 events near hospitals throughout California to provide health care professionals with more than 8,000 free meals. In order to maintain social distancing and the utmost safety and cleanliness for all, they are having a few representatives pick up meals from the truck every 15 minutes in lieu of accumulating a line of guests, according to a company press release.
 
Locations include Santa Ana, Norwalk, Los Angeles, West Covina, Long Beach, Mission Hills, Anaheim and many more

Just Salad
Just Salad is delivering 10,000 meals a week to seven hospitals in New York City, serving Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

"Taking care of our health-care workers is incredibly important so that they can, in turn, take care of their patients," Richard A. Friedman, co-chair of the boards of trustees for Mount Sinai Health System, who has partnered with Just Salad.  "Medical supplies remain critical, but so is providing healthy, delicious meals that are delivered directly to them. When presented with this opportunity from Just Salad, we were able to move very quickly to ensure our medical teams have nutritious food in the weeks ahead."

Just Salad was founded in 2006 in New York City and has nearly 50 locations in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Dubai.

Luna Grill
With kids all over San Diego County losing access to meals traditionally provided at school due to COVID-19 shutdowns, Luna Grill has launched "The Good Card," where for every $5 gift card increment, Luna Grill will donate a meal to a San Diego kid in need through a partnership with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. 

"In many instances, the school lunch program is the primary source for a guaranteed hot meal for thousands of local children," Chief Brand Officer Rich Pinnella said in a company press release. "In this time of anxiety, uncertainty and scarcity, our team wanted to "Do Good" and make the most of our resources. Food is love and we can provide food," he added.

All meals will be prepared and packaged in Luna Grill kitchens, adhering to hygiene guidelines, then delivered in sealed packaging for distribution through San Diego Food Bank operations/meal pick-up locations.

"We are not doing this alone…with the generous support of local partners KUSI San Diego and iHeart Radio San Diego, who are getting the word out and working with Luna Grill to make this happen," Pinnella said. "All of us are big fans of the work Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank is doing for San Diego. They are the backstop from keeping kids and families from going hungry."

Founded in 2004, Luna Grill has 50 locations in Southern California and the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Mamoun's Falafel
For every falafel sandwich purchased in April from Mamoun's Falafel, the Middle Eastern brand will donate to a participating local food bank, according to a company press release. Guests are encouraged to order takeout, curbside pickup or take advantage of contactless delivery through the Mamoun's website, Uber Eats, Grub Hub, and DoorDash. 

New York City-based Mamoun's Falafel operates 11 locations in New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Georgia.

Melt Shop
As part of its "Melt it Forward" campaign, Melt Shop has delivered food to more than 1,000 hospital workers in the NYC area and will continue the offering for the foreseeable future, according to a company press release. All hospital workers can also show a valid ID at their nearest Melt Shop to receive a free meal. In addition, Melt Shop will feed 150 people from the national guard dinner every night through late April. 

Melt Shop is also feeding children in need. Kids in NYC can stop by their nearest Melt Shop restaurant to receive a free melted sandwich (limit one per child through April 20). This is to help ease the burden of those that lost free lunch due to any school closures, according to the company.

Melt Shop was founded in 2011 in New York City.

The Melt
The Melt, a San Francisco-based fast casual chain specializing in all things cheese, has hit the $50,000 mark on donated meals across all seven of its California restaurants, totaling 4,000 free meals.

On March 19, The Melt began offering free meals (up to $15) for all hospital and medical personnel, according to a company press release.

Mighty Quinn's
Mighty Quinn's, which has 12 locations but only four still operating as the pandemic rages on, is giving free sandwiches to medical staff on the front lines of the crisis in New York and New Jersey.

Like many restaurants, Mighty Quinn's has felt the pinch, having temporarily closed a number of locations and pivoting to offering only takeout and delivery at the ones that remain open, according to a company press release. 

Mighty Quinn's, which has donated 1,000 sandwiches, will continue to help frontline workers until the pandemic is over. 

Mixt
Mixt, a California-based fast casual restaurant known for serving salads, sandwiches and market plates, has launched several community-based programs since the onset of COVID-19. So far it has:

  • Served more than 1,700 discounted and free meals to anyone who has found themselves in need of a healthy meal in the San Francisco, Oakland and Los Angeles areas.
  • Facilitated more than 1,000 guest donations to the Mixt Pay-It-Forward program that offers meals to those in need in local communities.
  • Partnered with local health care facilities, including UCSF, SF General and Children's Hospital of LA, to provide over 600 free meals to health-care workers on the front line.

"Like many businesses, we are facing our own extreme challenges, but we feel a deep responsibility to our communities and employees," co-founder and MIXT CEO Leslie Silverglide said in a company press release. "We're filled with gratitude as these efforts help thousands of people in need, and allow our employees to continue
working."

Founded in 2005, by Leslie and David Silverglide, Mixt now has 16 corporate-owned locations.

Paris Baguette
Paris Baguette, a bakery chain with nearly 30 locations in New York City, is offering free coffee to all hospital workers, first responders, the New York City Police Department and the New York City Fire Department
 
"We have a responsibility to serve our communities and those that are working selflessly at the frontline of the pandemic by remaining open for delivery, pick-up and grab-and-go options," CEO Darren Tipton said in a company press release. "We will continue to safely serve our fresh foods and a wide variety of signature cakes and pastries, sandwiches and salads, seasonal beverages, and more, for the people in our communities who need it."

Russo's New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen
Russo's New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen, based in Houston, is delivering pizza, salads, sandwiches and much more to first responders and hospital teams area-wide in each of its markets. 

"There is no way to fully express our appreciation for the first responders and hospital workers who put themselves at risk every day," Chef Anthony Russo, founder and CEO of Russo's New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen, said in a company press release. "We want to take care of our community just as much as they take care of us."

Throughout Texas, Russo's has donated food to the Houston Fire Department, HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest Hospital, Methodist Richardson Hospital, VA Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital as well as police departments, regional clinics and city halls. Additional drop-offs are being coordinated on an ongoing basis. Locations in Florida and Oklahoma are doing the same.

Russo's has locations in Texas, Oklahoma and Florida as well as the Middle East. 

Starbucks
As part of ongoing efforts to support communities around the world amid the impact of COVID-19, The Starbucks Foundation is donating more than $3 million to support community response efforts globally, according to a company press release.

On a global scale, the foundation will contribute $1 million to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund in support of the World Health Organization, powered by the United Nations. The fund strengthens WHO's efforts to track and understand the spread of the virus, help patients get the care they need and workers get essential supplies and information, and accelerates the development of vaccines, tests and treatments.

In China, where early signs of recovery from COVID-19 are showing, The Starbucks Foundation will contribute $1 million to Give2Asia to fund a project focused on supporting frontline medical workers and strengthening grassroots capabilities to safeguard the future of local communities. The donation will help provide training to doctors in less developed areas on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus and other respiratory diseases; educate local communities on disease prevention; and offer free counseling to health care workers psychologically impacted by COVID-19.

The donation follows Starbucks China 3 million yuan donation to the China Red Cross Foundation. This donation was issued in the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak in China to help provide essential supplies and to protect and support the medical personnel working tirelessly at the front line in Hubei province.

Supporting vulnerable communities in the U.S. and Canada
Beginning with local nonprofit partners in Starbucks home of Seattle, The Starbucks Foundation has donated $250,000 with a focus on helping unsheltered families and vulnerable populations in shelters prepare and stay safe. These donations to Mary's Place, Wellspring Family Services, United Way of King County, Catholic Community Services and FareStart are helping support preparedness and stabilization of families and individuals in shelter, and ensure continued service delivery, especially as needs of the most vulnerable increase, according to the release.

This support is in addition to The Starbucks Foundation's $250,000 donation in early March to help launch the COVID-19 Response Fund hosted by Seattle Foundation.

In New York City, the Starbucks Foundation is contributing $250,000 to Robin Hood's COVID Response Fund, which supports nonprofit organizations on the front lines in providing emergency support to New Yorkers. Another $50,000 donation will enable United Way of New York City to provide food, learning and other resources to communities disproportionately affected by the economic consequences of the crisis. The Starbucks Foundation is also contributing $25,000 to the New York City Police Foundation to purchase supplies that NYPD officers need to keep themselves safe, and $25,000 to the Food Bank for New York City to ensure New York residents in need continue to have access to meals during times of crisis.

Nationally, The Starbucks Foundation supported United Way Worldwide's COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund with a $250,000 donation to help the most vulnerable populations across the U.S. receive critical financial and social service support.

In Canada, The Starbucks Foundation is supporting vulnerable communities and front-line health care workers with a $100,000 CAD donation to United Way Centraide Canada's COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund and a $100,000 CAD donation to support hospital foundations across the country.

In addition to these donations, last week Starbucks announced it will give a free tall-brewed coffee to front-line responders to the COVID-19 outbreak through May 3.

Sweetgreen
Sweetgreen, in partnership with Chef José Andrés' World Central Kitchen, has launched the Sweetgreen Impact Outpost Fund, an initiative to feed front-line medical personnel working in hospitals, according to a company press release.

The fund builds on Sweetgreen's Impact Outpost program, which has allowed the 100-unit chain to turn its Outpost capabilities — an in-house system that delivers its bowls and salads for free to designated drop-off points — to installing operations in hospitals.

Based in Los Angeles, Sweetgreen has delivered more than 10,000 meals to hospital professionals.
 
Teriyaki Madness
Teriyaki Madness is partnering with its fans to match the contribution for the cost of meals for health care workers. Customers may visit catering.teriyakimadness.com and select the "Healthcare Teriyaki Bar" to have a fully loaded teriyaki spread delivered to the healthcare location of their choice. Each bar delivers hot and healthy teriyaki bowls for up to 10 people.

"Every day we are inspired by the health-care workers who are going above and beyond to make sure our communities are healthy and safe," Teriyaki Madness CEO Michael Haith said in a company press release. "We believe everyone has a role to play in overcoming this crisis, and we couldn't be more excited to offer our customers an easy way to lend a hand by providing a hot, delicious meal for our doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals."

In addition to the pride that comes with helping health care workers, Teriyaki Madness customers who are already MadRewards members will earn extra points for each Wok-Star Healthcare bar purchased.
