Retail Brand Group is entering the burger business with the launch of its new burger concept designed to target college campuses. The Original Burger Company is expected to roll out this fall starting in three to five campuses nationwide.
According to an article on burgerbusiness.com, confirmed locations for The Original Burger Company include Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Ga., North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, N.C., and Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I.
The Original Burger Company will offer customers built-to-order burgers, fries and chicken sandwiches at a mid-level price of $4 to $6. The concept also will berelevant to multiple non-traditional locations such as corporate campuses and hospitals.
"The Original Burger Company will launch in Sodexo's campus operations first," said Erica Milios, director of brand development for Sodexo's Retail Brand Group. "We notice many trends begin in the campus market because today's college student demands it all--quality, speed of service and price."
The Original Burger Company design was aided by Sodexo's Student Board of Directors (SBOD), a group assembled to voice their opinions about campus dining options. The group also selected the concept's name.
Other Retail Brand Group restaurants include Jazzman's Café and Pandini's.
