Two fast-casual restaurant CEOs went head-to-head this week for a hot wing eating challenge with funds helping two charities.
Charles Watson, CEO of Tropical Smoothie Cafe, challenged Wingstop CEO Charlie Morrison to an atomic wing eating contest. The challenge started over a LinkedIn conversation where the losing CEO agreed to make a $10,000 donation to the winner's charity of choice.
The outcome
Morrison prevailed with five atomic wings eaten, and Charles Watson finished with four wings eaten within 1 minute. Following the virtual contest, Watson announced a $10,000 donation to Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep, a high school in Texas, and Morrison matched the donation, making a $10,000 donation to Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine.
