Delivery has become an essential service for both restaurants and customers, but the traditional third-party relationship may not work for all restaurant brands.

Over the past few years, many restaurants have chosen to use strictly in-store drivers, while others have chosen to rely on third-party providers. Times, as they say, are changing, and 2021 is ripe for a hybrid trend to emerge, according to DoorDash's Zach Heerwagen.

He and Rob Tarsio, owner of Alfredo's Pizza in West Babylon, New York, discuss how customers can best partner with third-party providers as well as how DoorDash's new product offering, "Self-Delivery," works by allowing brands to use their own fleet of drivers while also tapping DoorDash to help them reach new customers.

Rob Tarsio is the restaurant owner of Alfredo's Pizza in West Babylon, New York. Rob has been a DoorDash merchant client since January 2019, utilizing the Self Delivery service to expand his business. Rob has been a single unit operator for 22 years, and has transformed his business to profitability by investing in products like DoorDash to attract and retain his customer base.
