Zoyo expands into Virginia

February 27, 2014

Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt, an Arizona-based self-serve frozen yogurt franchise, has announced the launch of the brand in Virginia. Local franchisees Isaura Ramirez and her husband, Armando Velasquez, will open the first location Saturday in Suffolk.

"We believe that Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt is the perfect gathering spot for this community," said Ramirez. "Zoyo's values and ours are a perfect match. Not only is the yogurt healthy, but the brand believes in supporting the community, like we do."

In 2013, Zoyo achieved system-wide positive comp growth, said Aaron Klusman, founder of Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt. In addition to the Suffolk store coming soon, the brand currently has 10 locations throughout the metro-Phoenix area as well as a store in Indiana, with additional openings planned in Texas, Georgia and Michigan in 2014. Zoyo is also actively pursuing franchisees to operate in markets throughout the rest of the United States, including New York City and Boston.

"Zoyo delivers an experience unlike any other frozen yogurt shop," Klusman said. "We serve the highest quality ingredients and toppings, and provide a relaxed atmosphere that encourages friends and families to mingle and unwind. In every market, our goal is to be an evening ritual for the community."
