Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt, an Arizona-based, self-serve frozen yogurt franchise, has announced the signing of a development agreement to expand the brand into the Atlanta market. Local franchisees Craig and Robin Kovel plan to open multiple locations with the first set to open mid-2014, according to a company press release. The first Zoyo will open in Kennesaw.
"Atlanta is a dynamic, growing community and a great place to own and operate a family friendly business," said Craig Kovel. "As patrons of other frozen yogurt brands in our area, we really couldn't find the quality of product and comfortable atmosphere that we craved. Once we tasted the fantastic yogurt flavors and experienced for ourselves the welcoming, fun atmosphere of Zoyo, we knew that we had to bring the superior experience home with us to Atlanta."
In 2012, Zoyo achieved system-wide positive comp growth, said Aaron Klusman, founder of Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt. In addition to the Atlanta store coming soon, the brand currently has 10 locations throughout the Phoenix area as well as a store in Indiana, with additional openings planned in Texas, Virginia, Michigan, Missouri and Oklahoma. Zoyo is also actively pursuing franchisees to operate in markets throughout the rest of the United States, including New York City and Boston.
"In a crowded marketplace, Zoyo provides an experience unlike any other frozen yogurt shop," Klusman said. "We serve the highest quality toppings and ingredients, and provide a relaxed atmosphere that allows families and friends to unwind and socialize. We strive to be an evening ritual for the community."
