As summer approaches, two fast casuals, New Orleans-based Main Squeeze Juice Co. and Colorado-based Ziggi's Coffee, are launching fruity limited-time beverages.
Main Squeeze, which has 25 locations, has created a watermelon juice line, featuring Hydrate and Heat juices. Watermelons are made up of 92% water, allowing people to naturally hydrate without sacrificing taste, and Main Squeeze has added additional nutritional ingredients to fuel bodies, CEO Thomas Nieto told Fast Casual.
Hydrate offers a refreshing tropical blend of hydrating coconut water and antioxidant-rich watermelon with a hint of sweetness from the pineapple, and heat offers a spicy-spin on typical watermelon juice with a blend of antioxidant-rich watermelon and immune boosting serrano pepper.
Ziggi's Coffee has developed Fresherz, a thirst-quenching treat that features green coffee extract that gives natural energy at any time of the day, according to a company press release. Flavors include:
Each Fresherz can be customized with tea, lemonade, Red Bull or coconut milk.
"We invite everyone to stop by their favorite Ziggi's and get a drink as fresh as them," Kathryn Bleeker, Ziggi's director of Marketing, said in the release. "Our new line of Fresherz are bright, light, refreshing and the perfect summertime accessory. Get ready to taste fresh fruit flavors and feel good about the reinvigorating, natural energy in every sip."
Founded in 2004, Ziggi's has 49 locations nationwide and over 100 additional units in development.
