Zaxby's has hired former Dollar General executive Chris Kung as chief digital officer to lead the transformation of its loyalty and e-commerce initiatives.
"Zaxbys rapid expansion requires the investment of world-class leaders and resources," Zaxby's CEO Bernard Acoca said in a company press release. "Chris's expertise in e-commerce and loyalty programs will help drive incremental growth and enhance the Zaxbys experience as digital touchpoints continue to proliferate throughout the customer journey. His arrival will help us build stronger relationships with our guests by deepening our understanding of their needs and rewarding their patronage with personalized experiences."
As Dollar General chief digital officer, Kung helped create the myDG loyalty program. Under his leadership, e-commerce sales grew 40 times in three years and app usage surged from 1.8 million to 7 million monthly active users, according to the release.
Prior to Dollar General, Kung held leadership positions at Macy's Inc., where he drove omnichannel technology and innovation.
Kung will lead the newly formed loyalty/e-commerce team.

Zaxby's has over 950 locations in 17 states and is headquartered in Atlanta.
