Your Pie, Donato's and Grimaldi's fall into seasonal pies

Pizza brands all over the place are gearing up for the weather and seasonal changes ahead with lots of menu additions, including these from three pizza concepts that collectively display the kind of creativity and innovation that keeps pizza a mighty king in the foodservice kingdom.

Grimaldi's falls into rich tastes for fall
A fire-braised chicken breast-topped pizza sizzles with Buffalo chicken pizza made with a Frank's RedHot sauce-braised breast, celery, gorgonzola and mozzarella on a coal-fired crust. That's complemented nicely by a romaine-based "Wedge" salad, featuring gorgonzola, cherry tomatoes, red onions, blue cheese dressing and bacon, a news release said.

Beverage innovations include a green apple sangria and fruit puree-infused Italian sodas. Apples also invade dessert in a caramel apple cheesecake made with green apples atop a cinnamon sugar cookie crust, topped with a caramel swirl and whipped cream.

An Oreo cookie-crusted chocolate cheesecake is also offered available.

"Spud-ified" pizza at Your Pie
Loaded baked potatoes just scream colder weather, and Your Pie is going with that in its Craft Series fall offering, the Loaded Baked Potato Pie, available through Nov. 7, a news release said.

The unusual pizzas also include bacon, chives, white cheddar cheese and a sour cream drizzle on a base made with Your Pie’s homemade ranch dressing.

Diners may want to add the  "suds" being offered this fall at the chain, including those from brewing partner, Dogfish Head.  

"This particular Craft Series offering is extra special to us because it was invented by our Roswell, Georgia franchisees and voted on by our entire system at last year’s annual Franchise Fest," Your Pie Founder and President Drew French said in the release.

In the past, the brand's Craft Series has spun off innovations like the cheeseburger-inspired Slider Pie, guacamole-centric Fresh Fiesta Pie and Peach Proscuitto Pie. This year also, diners can top it all off with a new Caramel Cookie Crunch Gelato.

Donatos goes old-school Italian
Donatos is delivering a Quattro Italiano Pizza as we march into football season, laden with heritage pepperoni, dry-aged salami, family recipe sausage, thin-sliced ham and Parmesan, through Oct. 22 at the chain. 

The large $15 meaty offering is created to lure the most discriminating customers who want premium products in their pies, the release said.
